For those who I have not met yet, my name is Brit Gibson, owner of Defensive Handgun Training, Inc. , located in Apple Springs, Texas. For all those great people that I have had the privilege of meeting through the concealed handgun permit classes, hello again.

I would like to tell you about the new advanced handgun courses that are now available. Along with the CHL classes there will be two different advanced classes: Level I and Level II. I believe that everyone that owns a handgun should know how to use it. Everyone knows that simply buying or owning a guitar does not make one a musician, you have to take lessons and practice, practice, practice to become proficient and confident. That's what these advanced handgun classes are all about: Safety, Proficiency, and Confidence with your handgun for self protection and the protection of your loved ones.

These classes, both Level I and Level II, will be limited to six people and six people only per class. Since I conduct all the classes personally, six will have to be the maximum number to insure proper and personal instruction, and guaranteed lots of shooting. I have attended advanced handgun classes at places like Thunder Ranch and Gunsite where you pay approximately two hundred dollars per day and have twenty or so people in class and waste part of the day waiting your turn to shoot at something. Not the case here at DHT, Inc. Each class will be a two day class at a cost of $250.00 plus your ammunition which will be approximately 600-800 rounds for the two days. ( I said lots of shooting.)

The format for these classes are based on my experiences through years of law enforcement tactical training, and my experiences at both Gunsite Training Center located in Paulden, AZ, founded by Jeff Cooper and Thunder Ranch, operated by Clint Smith, former Gunsite training manager. Shooting positions include prone, kneeling, standing, and moving.

Introduction to techniques of defensive pistol craft. Covers fundamentals for the safe use of defensive handgun for home and street use. Subjects covered include safety, drawing, loading, malfunction clearance, stress operation, specialized drills and representations of short range confrontations. Class is defensive in nature and is designed to prepare the client both mentally and physically for confrontations.
